The New Word

I took the cheap Chinatown bus from New York City to Philadelphia (for $10!).  Behind me, a young African-American fashion designer spoke on the phone for 40 minutes.  At one point, he said: "That's cool!  That's husky!"

So the new word is "husky."  For a mere $10, I learned this essential cultural knowledge.
