Quarter to Three
My E-Mail Rewritten by the Major Poet Mikhail Horowitz
I sent out the following message as a mass e-mail:
Excellent House Share Available (plus a poem by Sparrow)
We're living in a large beautiful house built in 1873 in Teaneck, New
Jersey, next to a 20-acre nature preserve and 5 miles from the George
Washington Bridge.
Huge room for rent -- $600 plus utilities. Share kitchen, two
bathrooms, living room (Steinway piano), dining room, wrap around
porch, yard.
Call 201-357-2944 or reply to this e-mail.
-Sparrow & Violet
And here is that poem by Sparrow:
My New Poems
My new poems
are much more
anarchic than
my old ones.
They have
thericity and
glenderiousness.
Later that day, I received a reply from the renowned poet Mikhail Horowitz:
Wait! I thought this was the poem:

and thericitous parakeets OK.
"May I quote you in my blog?" I asked Mr. Horowitz, by e-mail.
"You may quote me, but only if you do so scoggishly," the bard enigmatically replied.
